On January 23rd, Birdhouse held another much-anticipated 'Demo Day', where the startups of Cohort 16 took to the stage to pitch their visions in front of a packed audience of over 100 potential investors. This evening marked the grand finale of an intense 12-week program, showcasing just how much these innovative founders had achieved.

Our event venue at Cresco was buzzing with the excitement of 8 ambitious startups, each eager to demonstrate their growth, resilience, and readiness to scale. These weren’t just ideas on paper but well-crafted business cases, brought to life with refined pitches that showcased the remarkable journey they had undertaken.

The night began with a moment of reflection, as the Birdhouse team shared the incredible strides Cohort 16 had made. From perfecting their storytelling to building investor-ready business strategies, every startup’s progress was palpable. This wasn’t just any end-of-program celebration, but also a showcase of how far each startup had come, all wrapped up in the unique atmosphere only the Birdhouse network can bring.

Perfecting the pitch

Over the past twelve weeks Cohort 16 startups worked tirelessly to hone their pitches, diving deep into storytelling, financial strategy, and market positioning. Supported by Birdhouse mentors, advisors, and industry experts, they polished every element of their presentations.

This effort shone brightly on Demo Day. The startups confidently presented their vision, milestones, and growth plans, sparking keen interest and meaningful conversations with investors. Each pitch reflected not only their hard work but also the robust foundation built during the program.

Unlocking unopened doors left and right

Demo Day brought together a diverse group of investors—ranging from seasoned venture capitalists to angel investors—all keen to discover the next big thing in Tech and AgeTech innovation. The event also drew alumni, mentors, and partners, creating a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and opportunity.

One of the standout moments of the evening was witnessing the genuine connections being formed. These weren’t just fleeting conversations but the beginnings of partnerships that could propel these startups to their next stage of growth.

Another successful event

The success of Demo Day isn’t just measured in pitches but in the lasting impact it creates for our startups. Whether it’s securing follow-on investments, finding strategic partners, or gaining invaluable feedback, this milestone is a testament to what’s possible with the right support and preparation.

At Birdhouse, we’re proud to see our Cohort 16 startups take this leap forward, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll achieve next. For those with a Belgian Tech or European AgeTech startup, dreaming of pitching in front of such an engaged audience, registrations for our next cohort—starting in April 2025—are now open.
